Oriental Medicine At It's Best

Oriental medicine programs can be custom tailored by the student.  Most clinic based study programs are located in Kunming city, Yunnan.  Clinic is held in the hospitals affiliated with the Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  The largest being Yunnan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, which is Yunnan's most famous traditional Chinese Medicine hospital.  Below is a detailed description of the daily program outlines.  The intensive clinical setting will quickly train you in the various complexities of treating a wide range of disease.  Patient interaction, diagnosis, and treatment will give you a glimpse of your future as a practitioner of oriental medicine, and create a foundation of personal experience, which is the beginning of true healing knowledge.  Morning clinics often bring more than 40 patients to one doctor.  This provides an abundant source of hands-on training and thus exposure to many types of traditional healing modalities; including acupuncture, tui na, herb therapy, bleeding, bee-sting and other traditional medical techniques.  Clinical study in internal medicine, gynecology, tumor, gastrointestinal, pediatric, orthopedic, acupuncture, tui na/massage and Chinese herbs creates a holistic and in-depth medical experience.

The student can elect to begin each morning with instruction in tai ji quan (Tai Chi Chuan), qi-gong and breathing exercises or Chinese language class (Mandarin) and then move on to the afternoon clinical setting; students that require a certain amount of clinical hours for licensing can attend morning clinic as well.  After breaking for lunch various famous doctors give afternoon lectures on Oriental Medicine theory, application and technique (for those students combining classes).  There is also time allotted to review patient cases from morning clinic and to answer your questions.  Training is held Monday thru Friday, from 8:30-12:00PM and afternoons from 2:00- 6:00PM; schedules may vary.  Since the Yunnan province has such a rich and thoroughly interesting and entertaining culture, we have left the weekends free so that you may enjoy your visit and have some time to appreciate this ancient civilization.

All of these programs will earn you a certificate of mastery issued by the Yunnan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital owned by the Yunnan Traditional Chinese Medicine University; which is an AACRAO (NCCAOM international accredited schools page) accredited school.
